Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) has shown that tobacco use in Turkey dropped to 27.1 % in 2012 from 31.2 % in 2008.

The survey also revealed that tobacco use among males fell to 41.5 % from 47.9 %, as it declined to 13.1 % from 15.2 % among females.
