H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Dr. Ahmadou Lamin SAMATEH, Minister of Health of The Gambia ahead of the OIC Banjul Summit. The meeting aimed to identify areas of possible collaboration between SESRIC and Ministry of Health (MoH) of Gambia.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK stressed that SESRIC's has extensive experience in organizing capacity-building activities in the health domain, particularly 27 activities have been benefitted by 77 participants of Gambia. In addition, SESRIC was involved in the Reverse Linkage Project for The Gambia titled: “Capacity Development of the School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences of the University of The Gambia”. This collaborative engagement underscores SESRIC's commitment to fostering human capital development and enhancing healthcare capacity-building intiatives, such as IbnSina-CaB, OSH-CaB and TQS within the OIC countries, she mentioned.

While thanking H.E. SELÇUK for her visit, H.E. Dr. SAMATEH reaffirmed the MoH of Gambia's readiness to engage and involve more in the capacity building programmes of SESRIC towards enhancing the well-being of the Gambian population.

The meeting concluded with both representatives setting the ground for future collaboration, including submitting joint projects to relevant OIC platforms.
