Project purpose:

The main objective of the project was to strengthen the capacity of the OIC Member Countries in adopting unconventional water resources and water-smart agricultural techniques to enhance water availability and ensure its proper distribution and management in OIC Member Countries. The training course, which was the first of the two project activities, aimed to enhance the participants’ understanding of innovative approaches for improving water availability, ensuring efficient water management, and increasing agricultural productivity in water-scarce environments. The study visit to Afyonkarahisar provided participants with practical insights into the safe and efficient reuse of treated domestic wastewater in agriculture, promoting sustainable agricultural production, and addressing water scarcity challenges in OIC Member Countries through the exchange of Türkiye’s successful experiences and technical expertise.
