Technical Cooperation

Since its establishment in 1978, the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) plays a significant role in enhancing technical cooperation and collaboration among the OIC Member States by facilitating technical assistance, exchange of knowledge and best practices, skills development, and networking on a wide range of socio-economic issues. Moreover, SESRIC attaches great importance to conducting and contributing to the regional and country specific development projects where South-South cooperation is the main collaboration instrument among the beneficiary and provider countries. Thus, SESRIC partners with national, regional and international institutions in order to implement projects and activities developed for the benefit of the OIC Member States.

Within this framework, SESRIC’s efforts towards enhancing intra-OIC technical cooperation aim at utilizing capacities and experiences available in the OIC Member States and then enabling mutual learning and capacity development among them. To this end and in an effort to promote technical cooperation among the OIC Member States in a variety of socio-economic areas, SESRIC classifies its technical cooperation initiatives, projects and activities under the following headings:

1- Reverse Linkage

2- Activities & Projects

3- Networks

4- Portals
