Introduction

Prepared by the Statistics and Information Department of SESRIC, the OIC in Key Figures Pocketbook is a concise and practical statistical reference that provides quick access to selected key indicators for the OIC Member Countries. Presented in a compact and user-friendly format, the publication offers an overview of the latest available data across major social and economic domains, including demography, education, health, labour force, national accounts, trade and finance, energy, tourism, science, technology and innovation, and other selected areas.

For each OIC Member Country, the Pocketbook presents country-level figures together with OIC and world aggregate values, where applicable, facilitating meaningful comparison and providing an at-a-glance view of the country’s socio-economic profile. The publication also includes definitions of the key indicators and technical notes to support the accurate interpretation of the data presented.

The data are drawn primarily from OICStat, SESRIC’s comprehensive statistical database, which provides access to a wide range of socio-economic indicators on the OIC Member Countries. Through this publication, SESRIC aims to support policymakers, researchers, analysts and other stakeholders in identifying recent developments, emerging trends, opportunities and challenges across the OIC region.
