Project purpose:

The project is designed to strengthen Cairo’s tourism sector in celebration of its designation as the OIC City of Tourism for 2026. Through capacity-building activities aiming at promoting Islamic and rural heritage tourism, the project seeks to equip stakeholders with storytelling and digital branding skills, fostering a unified heritage identity integrating urban and rural landscapes. The project will propose a list of recommendations to ensure sustainable development of the tourism sector while promoting intra-OIC collaborations and experience sharing.

  • Workshop on “Community-Led Management of Islamic and Rural Heritage Tourism”
  • Commemoration Ceremony for Cairo as the selected OIC City of Tourism for 2026
