In accordance with its 2016 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised the Training Course on 'Information Society Statistics' at the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economics of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 28-30 November 2016.
The Training Course was conducted by Mr. Elchin HAJI, Head of Social Statistics Department of the State Statistical Committee (SSC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the participation of relevant of officials Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009; http://goo.gl/olg3Tz); Information society covers statistics allowing to assess the use and impact of information and communication technologies on society, includes access and use of ICTs including Internet), ICT expenditure and investment, ICT infrastructure, telecommunication networks, electronic communications, e-government, electronic commerce, e-learning, broadband penetration, ICT services, communication tariffs, network infrastructure, revenues, expenses and investment of operators, internet indicators and trade in telecommunications equipment.
