SESRIC and Islamic Development Bank Group Regional Hub in Turkey jointly organized a workshop to introduce the recently launched “Engage Platform” and “Transform Fund” on 13 February 2018 at SESRIC Headquarters in Ankara, Turkey. The workshop was attended by the Embassies of the OIC member states, international agencies, and UN Agencies working in Turkey.

“Engage” platform aims to connect innovations with market opportunities and funding. In other words, “Engage” creates an online environment, which facilitates interaction and engagement among a large network of stakeholders, allowing them to showcase their innovation and imaginative ideas to address sustainability challenges in the OIC member states.

The Platform offers three main services: matchmaking, technology transfer, and call for innovation.

To support the functioning of this Platform, the IDB has established a special fund called “Transform”, which provides seed money for innovators, startups and SMEs to develop their ideas and compose strong business proposals.

Through “Engage” and “Transform”, innovative ideas will be translated into real development solutions that will address development challenges and empower the communities and youth in particular in realizing their full potential.
