SESRIC organised a Statistics Course on ‘Science, Technology and Innovation Statistics’ on 13-15 May 2019 at the BPS-Statistics Indonesia within the framework of OIC Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme.

Mrs. Mazreha binti Yaakub, Deputy Director of Services Statistics Division of the Department of Statistics of Malaysia (DoSM), conducted the course with the participation of 42 officials of the BPS-Statistics Indonesia.

The Course included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:

• Definitions of R&D, Innovation and S&T Activities;
• Overview of Malaysia STI;
• The Compilation of STI Indicators including Education in Science, Mathematics and Technology, R&D and Innovation;
• Data Collection Methods;
• Adaptations ICTs in STI Activities including ICT Survey, E-Commerce Survey and R&D Survey;
• Measuring R&D Expenditure and Statistics;
• Challenges in STI; and
• Innovation Measurement Framework
