Within its recently initiated Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing, SESRIC organised its first webinar titled “Collection & Dissemination of SDGs Indicators: Experience of Uzbekistan” on 12 November 2020 in collaboration with the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics (UzStat) with the participation of representatives of the National Statistical Offices of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.

Inaugurated with the welcoming remarks of HE Mr. Nebil DABUR, Director General of SESRIC, and HE Mr. Bakhodir BEGALOV, Chairman of UzStat, the Webinar continued with the presentations of Ms. Olga Aleshulina, Deputy Head of the Division of Summary Analytical Information on Sustainable Development and Social Statistics, and Mr. Jaxongir Qambarov, Deputy Head of the Department of Social and Sustainable Development Statistics at UzStat, in which they shared the experience of UzStat on the collection, collation, and dissemination of SDGs indicators. The countries participated in the webinar also provided information about their practices on the subject in the third session of the Webinar.

The webinar was conducted through a video conferencing platform by following synchronous learning and instruction approaches designed in line with the virtual training solutions undertaken by SESRIC in order to better serve the Centre’s training activities and keep participants motivated and engaged during this time of global crisis due to COVID-19.
