Training Course on ‘Integrated Pest Management and Crop Management’

SESRIC organized a training course on “Integrated Pest Management and Crop Management” within the framework of the OIC Cotton Training Program (OIC-CTP) on 3-5 May 2017 in Kampala, Uganda. The course was provided by Prof. Dr. Tayyab Husanain and Prof. Dr. Idrees Ahmad Nasir, from Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology, University of the Punjab, Pakistan. The target groups of this training course were experts from the Cotton Development Organization, the National Agricultural Research Organization and Operation Wealth Creation in Kampala.

The training course on “Integrated Pest Management and Crop Management” mainly focused on the following topics

  • Introduction to cotton production in Uganda
  • Introduction of agriculture and health biotechnology at CEMB, Lahore applications and achievements.
  • Introduction to integrated pest and crop management
  • History of St cotton development at CEMB
