The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), H.E. Ambassador Mr. Mehmet Metin EKER paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, on 28 April 2023.

On the occasion of the courtesy visit, Amb. Mr. EKER congratulated Mrs. SELÇUK on her appointment as the new Director General of SESRIC, exchanged ways and means of enhancing the longstanding collaboration between the national institutions of the Republic of Türkiye and SESRIC. On his part, Amb. EKER expressed the importance attached by Republic of Türkiye to the OIC and its institutions.

On her part, the Director General of SESRIC extended to Amb. Mr EKER the appreciation for his visit and also appreciated the continued support of Republic of Türkiye in the mandated areas of SESRIC, namely statistics, research, and training and technical cooperation. Mrs. SELÇUK praised the active role of Republic of Türkiye by providing the expertise to other OIC countries through its experts particularly in capacity building programmes conducted by SESRIC. The Director General of SESRIC underlined that this is also a reflection of the Republic of Türkiye allocating the highest GDP share among all major official development assistance donors as indicated by the reports of the international organisations.

The courtesy visit ended with a shared commitment to further increase the collaboration between SESRIC and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the OIC for the benefit of the OIC countries.
