H.E. Nusura Omar TIPERU, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to the Republic of Türkiye, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC on 18 May 2023. The Ambassador extended her congratulations to H.E. SELÇUK on her appointment as the Director General of SESRIC, while expressing the intention to explore further opportunities for collaboration between national institutions of Uganda and SESRIC, focusing on common objectives and mutual areas of interest.

In the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK provided a comprehensive briefing on the existing collaborative endeavours between SESRIC and Uganda's national institutions, along with highlighting the potential opportunities for further expansion of this cooperation. H.E. TIPERU conveyed sincere appreciation for the significant contributions of SESRIC in encouraging human and institutional capacities within Uganda. She also emphasized the pivotal role played by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in this context.

Both parties reached consent on various actions to strengthen their cooperation. These actions included the identification of particular domains for collaboration and the facilitation of active engagement of national institutions of Uganda in SESRIC's activities.

The meeting concluded on a positive note with both H.E. SELÇUK and H.E. TIPERU committed to working together to address key challenges and contribute to socio-economic development in the Republic of Uganda and the wider OIC community.
