H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, paid a visit to Prof. Dr. Erol ÖZVAR, President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) of Türkiye on 01 June 2023 in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye.

In the course of the visit, H.E. SELÇUK gave a comprehensive overview of SESRIC’s diverse range of programmes, projects, and capacity-building initiatives in the Centre's three mandated areas. She also provided in-depth details about the Centre's newest initiative, the “SESRIC Emerging Talents Internship Programme (SETIP)”. This programme is designed to bolster the professional development of young talents from OIC Member Countries and Muslim communities by offering them a platform to gain practical experience and insights within an international framework, consequently enhancing their future employability.

Prof. Dr. ÖZVAR, on his side, provided an update about international students pursuing their studies at various Turkish universities and the international projects currently being undertaken by YÖK.

The meeting between the two parties was productive and centered around areas of mutual interest, with the shared objective of identifying avenues to strengthen collaboration between YÖK and SESRIC. Both H.E. SELÇUK and Prof. Dr. ÖZVAR expressed their eagerness and commitment towards formalizing their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with the aim of fostering increased cooperation for the collective benefit of OIC countries.
