SESRIC Participated in the Capacity Building on Data Collection, Analysis and Reporting in the Agricultural Sector of the OIC Countries

SESRIC participated in the Capacity Building on Data Collection, Analysis and Reporting in the Agricultural Sector of the OIC Countries, organised by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Gambia in collaboration with and support of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) on 12-15 June 2023 in Banjul, The Gambia.

The programme was initiated with the opening statements of H.E. Amb. Tolga BERMEK, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Gambia and H.E. Dr. Demba SABALLY, Minister of Agriculture of the Gambia. The Meeting was attended by 40 representatives from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs), Ministries of Agriculture of the Gambia, Nigeria, Senegal and Türkiye as well as representatives from the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). The Centre was represented thereat by Mr. Abdulhamit ÖZTÜRK, and Mr. Edema MUZAMIL, Researchers at Statistics and Information Department, and Economic and Social Research Department of SESRIC respectively.

During the capacity building programme, Prof. Michael Akindele OJO, Professor of Agricultural Economics, Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria, provided lectures on the following themes including discussions and hands-on exercises;
