Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on “Government Finance, Fiscal and Public Sector Statistics” for the benefit of 15 experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 9 French speaking OIC countries on 8-9 January 2024 through an online video conferencing platform.

Mr. Bocar KA, Head of the Statistics and Economic Analysis Unit at the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) of Senegal, delivered the training by covering the following topics:

• Framework for Government Finance Statistics (GFS) production
• Accounting rules
• Sectorization of public administration and the public sector
• Revenues and expenditures in GFS
• Financing and public debt
• Using GFS for policy objectives
