Within the framework of the OIC Public Employment Services Network (OIC-PESNET) and the SESRIC Public Employment Services Capacity Building Programme (PES-CaB), SESRIC organised a Training Course on “Effective Labour Market Information Systems” on 13-14 March 2024 through an online video conferencing platform.

The training course was provided by competent experts from the Malaysian Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) for the benefit of 100 experts from relevant Ministries and national public employment institutions in charge of labour in 21 OIC countries.

The following topics were covered during the two days of the training:

• Labour Market Data Framework by Ms. Nor Wahidah NOR AZELAN, Senior Statistician at Employment Information Analysis Services Department, SOCSO Malaysia
• Building a Framework for Collecting and Analysing Operational Data by Ms. Nadiah SOLAHUDDIN, Senior Analyst at Operational Data Management Unit, SOCSO Malaysia
• Building Effective Labour Market Information Systems by Mr. Edgardo GREISING, Head of Knowledge Management Solutions Unit, ILO
• Career Bridge Tool to Facilitate Informed Decision-Making by Jobseekers by Mr. Mohd Fairys KAMARUDIN, Deputy Head of Policy, Research and Strategy Division, SOCSO Malaysia
• Wage Guide for Salary Benchmarking and Promoting Fair Remuneration by Mr. Muhamad Faizal MOHD BASIR, Senior Programmer at the Analytics and Labour Market Information Division, SOCSO Malaysia
