SESRIC and UNDP Türkiye hold bilateral meeting to strengthen collaboration

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Louisa VINTON, UNDP Türkiye Resident Representative. The discussions focused on exploring potential collaborations between SESRIC and UNDP Türkiye with a particular focus on addressing socioeconomic challenges and fostering sustainable development within the OIC region.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK underlined SESRIC’s efforts in fostering socio-economic development in the OIC countries within its mandated areas. She mentioned that SESRIC implements capacity-building and training activities under 21 different sector-specific programs through training courses, webinars, study visits, and workshops. Furthermore, H.E. SELÇUK highlighted possible areas of collaboration between SESRIC and UNDP Türkiye, including South-South Cooperation (SSC), youth empowerment and entrepreneurship, women’s empowerment, digital transformation and more.

While thanking H.E. SELÇUK for her kind visit, H.E. VINTON emphasized that through aligned efforts, SESRIC and UNDP Türkiye can work together to promote sustainable development, economic growth, and social inclusion.

The meeting concluded with both delegates emphasizing a shared focus on knowledge exchange, capacity building and fostering collaboration between SESRIC and UNDP Türkiye.

UNDP is the United Nations' lead agency on international development. It was established in 1966 by the General Assembly of the United Nations. UNDP currently works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. Its work is concentrated in three focus areas: (1) sustainable development, (2) democratic governance and peacebuilding, and (3) climate and disaster resilience.
