SESRIC Director General Engages in Collaborative Discussions with Iranian Vice President for Women and Family Affairs at CSW68

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a meeting with H.E. Dr. Ensiyeh KHAZALI, Vice President for Women and Family Affairs of Iran, on 14 March 2024, during the 68th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) at UN headquarters in New York. The meeting aimed to enhance cooperation and promote initiatives that empower women and family well-being.

During the meeting, both expressed their readiness to strengthen collaboration. They underlined the significance of synergy and partnership and deliberated on the potential for joint initiatives and exchange programs to reach shared objectives.

H.E. SELÇUK highlighted the activities undertaken by SESRIC to promote the well-being of families, acknowledging the pivotal role of family structures in nurturing healthy, resilient societies and the importance of holistic approaches that address the intersecting needs of women, children, and families.

H.E. Dr. KHAZALI highlighted the crucial role of women’s empowerment in driving social and economic progress. She also underscored the value of specific interventions and support systems in advancing women’s empowerment, particularly within the OIC context.

The meeting concluded with both representatives expressing their readiness to strengthening collaboration between SESRIC and Iran, as well as highlighting the importance of knowledge exchange and cooperation within the OIC community.
