SESRIC, in collaboration with the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), organised a Webinar on “Digitalisation in Food Security and Agriculture”, within the framework of SESRIC’s Agriculture and Food Security Capacity Building Programme (Agri-CaB) and Digital Capacity Building Programme (Digi-CaB).

The webinar brought together 32 representatives from ministries and government agencies/institutions and relevant stakeholders from 12 OIC countries responsible for addressing food security, digital agriculture, and agricultural sector. It encouraged knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices to address the challenges and opportunities present in member countries.

The webinar featured presentation by experts from IOFS, Quaid-i-Azam University, the Centre for Resilience and Sustainable Development (CRSD), and the InsightEx.

Key topics covered during the webinar included:

• Introduction to Digitalisation in Agriculture;
• Use of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics for Food Security Agricultural Development;
• Integration Strategies of Digitalisation in the Agriculture;
• Digital Farm Registry Platform. Use of Spatial Management System for Agriculture; and
• Application of AI Technologies and Satellite Data Engineering for Agriculture, the Environment and Hydrology in Mauritania.
