H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with Dr. Issa FAYE, Director General of Global Practices and Partnerships at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group. The meeting centred on enhancing the longstanding collaboration between SESRIC and IsDB in key areas such as Reverse Linkage Projects, vocational education, women and youth empowerment, climate action, disaster resilience, and food security.

Over the years, SESRIC and IsDB, two pivotal institutions within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), have successfully implemented numerous joint initiatives, including 5 Reverse Linkage projects in Gambia, Sudan, Uganda, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. The cooperation of both institutions also paved the way for 5 joint reports on various socio-economic issues.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK highlighted the importance of strengthening technical cooperation and capacity-building projects tailored to meet the specific needs of OIC member countries, adding that SESRIC is ready to explore areas of mutual interest with IsDB to for the benefit of OIC member countries.

On his part, Dr. FAYE welcomed the SESRIC initiatives and projects in promoting social development and expressed the IsDB’s willingness to cooperate with SESRIC to foster economic resilience and development across diverse regions.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the shared commitment between SESRIC and IsDB to work toward the socio-economic advancement of OIC countries through joint initiatives.
