SESRIC Participates in the First Meeting of the OIC Intergovernmental Expert Group on the Programme of Action

The SESRIC delegation, led by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, participated in the First Meeting of the OIC Intergovernmental Expert Group held at the OIC General Secretariat Headquarters in Jeddah Saudi Arabia on 1-3 October 20024 to discuss the draft Programme of Action for the decade 2026-2035.

Dr. Ahmet ÖZTÜRK, Senior Researcher at SESRIC, presented key findings from SESRIC’s recent report on the “Implementation Status of the OIC-2025 Programme of Action by Member Countries 2023” during the session titled “Recommendations for accelerating progress on implementation of the OIC-2025: Programme of Action and preparing the final report on its overall implementation”.

The presentation highlighted challenges in data collection and overall progress of the Programme, noting that while some areas have demonstrated noteworthy progress, significant challenges remain across multiple goals. It also emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among member countries in addressing the challenges of data collection and developing precise indicators will be crucial for the success of the OIC-2025 POA.
