H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK Participates in the AZHAB Forum in Baku

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK participated in the Halal Business Forum (AZHAB) held on 8-9 October 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The forum was organised by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) in partnership with international organisations such as OIC, SESRIC, SMIIC and ICCD.

The event featured a conference and exhibition that brought together officials, experts, academics, and business leaders from around 20 countries. It served as a key platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and promoting ethical practices in the Halal industry to support business growth and sustainable economic development.

In her address, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK emphasized the rapid expansion of the Halal industry among both Muslim and non-Muslim populations. She noted that the industry represents shared values and traditions, offering significant opportunities across various sectors.

H.E. SELÇUK also participated in a panel discussion on the Role of SMEs in the Global Halal Industry, where she outlined SESRIC’s efforts in supporting the development of the Halal industry among OIC countries. She outlined SESRIC’s various activities aimed at addressing the challenges faced by SMEs.

The AZHAB Forum, held for the first time this year, is a platform for the Halal industry that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing among its participants. It features discussions on sustainable practices, product showcases, and opportunities for commercial growth, aiming to enhance global understanding and development of the Halal sector. By facilitating networking and partnerships, the Forum supports ethical business practices and international cooperation within the industry.
