SESRIC and Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) Explore Collaboration on Family and Social Development Initiatives

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Sharifa Noaman AL EMADI, Executive Director of the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) of Qatar, to discuss and explore collaborative efforts aimed at advancing family and social development across OIC countries. The meeting focused on strengthening institutional ties and identifying joint initiatives in research, capacity building, and training programmes, with an emphasis on family, women, youth, and children.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK highlighted SESRIC’s ongoing efforts to promote family and social development, sharing that SESRIC has organized over 50 activities to date, including training courses, workshops, and webinars, benefiting more than 2,000 participants. These activities have been part of SESRIC’s mandates to supporting OIC countries in fostering inclusive social policies that address the needs of all individuals, particularly those of families and vulnerable populations.

H.E. AL EMADI expressed DIFI’s willingness to supporting family development within the region and commended SESRIC’s achievements in training and capacity building. She emphasized the importance of creating tailored programmes that align with the specific cultural and social contexts of OIC countries to address issues affecting families, women, and youth more effectively.

The two parties concluded the meeting with a shared vision to developing collaborative programmes that leverage their expertise and resources to drive impactful change, focusing on research, training, and policy development for OIC societies.

The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), established in Qatar under the Qatar Foundation, is a global research and advocacy organization dedicated to supporting the well-being and empowerment of families. Through research, policy development, and partnerships, DIFI addresses critical family-related issues, including family cohesion, gender equality, child welfare, and work-life balance. The institute collaborates with international and regional stakeholders to promote evidence-based policies that strengthen family units and support sustainable development goals. DIFI’s initiatives aim to position the family as a core element of social and economic development, both in Qatar and globally.
