On the sidelines of the 40^th Ministerial Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Mr. Fahmi FADZIL, Minister of Communications and Digital of Malaysia, in Istanbul, Türkiye.

The meeting was a platform to explore new avenues of collaboration in the field of communications, an area of growing significance for OIC countries. During the discussions, H.E. SELÇUK emphasized the critical role that effective communication strategies play in fostering socio-economic development across the OIC region and that enhancing communications capabilities within OIC countries not only strengthens national development but also contributes to the overall progress and cohesion of the OIC community.

In his response, H.E. Mr. Fahmi FADZIL thanked H.E. SELÇUK for the continued support and collaboration between SESRIC and Malaysian national institutions, highlighting that the partnership had already delivered tangible benefits. He expressed his appreciation for SESRIC's capacity-building activities, which greatly benefited Malaysia from more than 200 such initiatives, ranging from workshops to training courses and joint projects. Minister FADZIL also reiterated Malaysia's readiness to further strengthen its cooperation with SESRIC, particularly in the digital transformation and communications sectors, which are crucial for the future development of the OIC countries.

The meeting concluded both parties jointly looking for ways to reinforce a wide range of activities designed to reinforce the capabilities of national institutions in Malaysia and across the OIC region.
