H.E. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk Meets with H.E. Amb. Mehmet Paçacı, OIC Special Envoy on Islamophobia, to Strengthen Cooperation in Combating Islamophobia

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK welcomed H.E. Ambassador Mehmet PAÇACI, Special Envoy of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General on Islamophobia, for a bilateral meeting at SESRIC headquarters. The meeting aimed at strengthening intra-OIC collaboration to counter Islamophobia and promote understanding of challenges affecting Muslim communities globally.

In their discussions, H.E. SELÇUK and H.E. PAÇACI explored joint initiatives to raise awareness and foster knowledge-sharing on issues faced by Muslims worldwide. The dialogue focused on enhancing coordinated efforts to address discrimination and negative perceptions impacting Muslim communities and on developing strategies that reinforce tolerance, inclusion, and cultural understanding across OIC countries.

H.E. PAÇACI highlighted the role of cooperation among OIC institutions, particularly in data-driven research and capacity-building activities, to advance collective action against Islamophobia. H.E. SELÇUK underlined SESRIC’s commitment to providing analytical support and statistical insights that contribute to advocacy and policy-making efforts aligned with OIC objectives.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to leveraging SESRIC’s research capabilities and OIC’s diplomatic outreach to address Islamophobia and promote resilience and unity within Muslim communities worldwide.
