Date: 04-05 December 2024
Venue: Jeddah - Saudi Arabia

A SESRIC delegation, headed by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, participated in the 8th Session of the Annual Coordination Meeting of OIC Institutions (ACMOI), held at the Headquarters of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 4-5 December 2024. This meeting served as an important platform to strengthen the coordination and collaboration among OIC institutions, enhancing their collective impact in addressing priority issues of the OIC Member Countries.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK presented the progress report of the Finance, Development, and Private Sector Sub-Committee (FIDEPS), which SESRIC chairs. The report highlighted key achievements and the status of activities agreed upon during the 7th ACMOI held in January 2024. The Sub-Committee has played a critical role in compiling and sharing updates on the implementation of the agreed activities, fostering cooperation among the Sub-Committee members.

SESRIC’s efforts and contributions were widely recognized during the meeting, with the Centre achieving one of the highest implementation rates among OIC institutions. Key accomplishments included successfully convening the 13th Session of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), organizing impactful training programs such as the session on “Integrating OIC Youth Strategy into the National Programmes in OIC Member Countries,” and the publication of the 2024 edition of the OIC Economic Outlook report, which provides comprehensive insights into the economic trends and developments across the OIC Member Countries.

The thematic technical committee meetings, held on the first day of the event, reviewed the implementation status of activities aligned with the ACMOI Matrix for 2024. The second day included discussions on proposed joint activities for 2025, focusing on expanding the scope of collaboration and ensuring alignment with the resolutions of the 15th Islamic Summit Conference and the 50th Council of Foreign Ministers. SESRIC presented an ambitious portfolio of proposed activities for 2025, complementing its ongoing initiatives to address key developmental priorities across economic, social, and scientific domains.

Looking ahead, SESRIC reaffirms its commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships and delivering impactful programs that contribute to the socio-economic development of OIC Member Countries. As outlined in the ACMOI Matrix of Activities for 2025, SESRIC will continue its collaborative efforts to serve the Muslim Ummah and support the collective goals of the OIC.
