Workshop on 'Multi-sectoral Mechanisms for Regular Evaluations on Disaster Risk Reduction'

Within the framework of its Disaster Risk Management Capacity Building Programme, SESRIC, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB Indonesia) and the Ministry of Environment of Tunisia, will organise a Workshop on “Multi-sectoral Mechanisms for Regular Evaluations on Disaster Risk Reduction” on 14-15 April 2025, through an online video conferencing platform.

The workshop aims to enhance understanding of multi-sectoral mechanisms for conducting regular evaluations in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). It will focus on how coordinated evaluation mechanisms—spanning policy, technical tools, data analytics, and community engagement—can strengthen disaster risk reduction across sectors. Additionally, the workshop aims to enhance the understanding of disaster risk reduction practices while promoting a more coordinated global approach to disaster preparedness and response.

The workshop will cover the following key topics:

  • Multi-sectoral approaches to strengthening DRR evaluations.
  • Tools and methodologies for effective DRR assessments
  • Empowering communities in disaster risk reduction.
  • Good practices for inter-agency and community collaboration in DRR.
