SESRIC, in collaboration with the OIC Permanent Observer Mission to the UN and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, will organise a side event titled “Baku Climate Coalition for SMEs’ Green Transition: Women Empowerment” on the margins of the 69th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) on 10 March 2025 in New York, USA.

Recognizing the importance of enhancing women’s well-being by increasing their inclusion in all aspects of the economy and aligning women empowerment policies with environmental sustainability, the side event will focus on the pivotal role of women in driving the green transition of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The side event will also explore strategies to strengthen women’s participation in the labour force, business leadership, and entrepreneurship, in alignment with the principles outlined in the “Declaration on the Baku Climate Coalition for SMEs’ Green Transition,” which was endorsed by KOBİA.

The side event aims to foster a dynamic and participatory session by bringing together high-level representatives and diverse stakeholders from OIC Member Countries and Institutions, drawing on a range of perspectives and expertise.
