H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK Held a Bilateral Meeting with H.E. Mekan ISHANGULIYEV, Ambassador of Turkmenistan, to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mekan ISHANGULIYEV, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Türkiye in Ankara. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between SESRIC and Turkmenistan, with particular emphasis on capacity-building initiatives and strengthening partnerships with national institutions in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK affirmed SESRIC’s commitment to continue its engagement with Turkmenistan by tailoring its capacity-building initiatives to align with the country’s development priorities. In this regard, since the initiation of its various capacity-building programmes and projects, the Centre has organised a total of 22 activities for the benefit of the public institutions of Turkmenistan, with more than 1,600 participants from OIC countries, including several participants from national institutions in Turkmenistan. She also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to facilitate knowledge-sharing and best practices among OIC Countries.

H.E. Mekan ISHANGULIYEV expressed his deep appreciation for SESRIC’s contributions to capacity development in Turkmenistan and acknowledged the impact of the Centre’s initiatives in supporting national institutions. He highlighted the significance of strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest and reiterated Turkmenistan’s readiness to actively participate in SESRIC’s capacity-building programmes.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, exploring new avenues for engagement, and leveraging SESRIC’s expertise to further support Turkmenistan’s institutional development and socio-economic progress within the framework of the OIC community.
