SESRIC Hosts Delegation of Diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

SESRIC hosted a delegation of diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Pakistan at its Headquarters in Ankara on 16 April 2025.

The visit commenced with an overview on the history, structure, and mission of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), providing valuable insights into the OIC’s vision, works and institutions fostering cooperation among its member states with a focus on the role and importance of Pakistan in the Organization.

Furthermore, the delegation received information on SESRIC’s core activities, focusing on its three mandated areas of work: statistics, research, and training & technical cooperation including an interactive Q&A session. In particular, the discussions underscored the importance of data, socio-economic analysis and capacity building on and for the OIC countries. The delegation also gained knowledge about SESRIC initiatives contributed to the development efforts of Pakistan in various areas such as statistical capacity development, disaster risk management among others.

The visit was part of a training programme organised by the Diplomacy Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye for the Pakistani Diplomats. The visit facilitated the exchange of ideas and emphasised the necessity and the value of building stronger ties between SESRIC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with other national institutions of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
