Training Course on ‘Enhancing Efforts for Facilitating Transportation in Landlocked OIC Member Countries’

Within the framework of the Transportation Capacity Building Programme (Transport-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), organised a Training Course on “Enhancing Efforts for Facilitating Transportation in Landlocked OIC Member Countries” on 29-30 April 2025 through an online video conferencing platform.

The training course featured distinguished experts from SESRIC, ICDT, and the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye. Ms. Zalina ENIKEEVA, research fellow from the University of Central Asia of Kyrgyzstan, also provided valuable inputs to the course. The activity brought together 87 participants from transportation and trade ministries, institutions, and other relevant organisations across 27 OIC countries.

The course aimed to address the transportation challenges faced by landlocked OIC countries and to explore policy solutions and strategies that facilitate transportation, which is essential for catalyzing economic growth. The two-day activity covered the following key topics:

  • Barriers to Development: Transportation Challenges in Landlocked OIC Countries
  • Building Resilient and Sustainable Transport Connectivity for Landlocked OIC Countries: The Case of Central Asian Countries
  • Impact of Digitalization on Transport Facilitation and Trade among OIC Member Countries
  • Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Program in Türkiye
