The SESRIC delegation, led by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, participated in the 2025 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Annual Meetings held on 19-22 May 2025 in Algiers, People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, under the theme: “Diversifying Economies, Enriching Lives”.

The Annual Meetings provided a high-level strategic platform for enhancing development cooperation and the exchange of knowledge among stakeholders. The event brought together IsDB Board of Governors, representing 57 OIC countries, along with development partners, policymakers, and private sector leaders, to discuss strategies for promoting inclusive and sustainable development and addressing common economic challenges.

In addition to the core governance meetings, the event included the IsDB Group Private Sector Forum, high-level roundtables, thematic side events, and dynamic knowledge-sharing sessions. These activities focused on critical development priorities, including economic diversification, resilience-building, and innovation-driven growth.

The Opening Ceremony commenced with remarks delivered by H.E. Nadir LARBAOUI, Prime Minister of Algeria, H.E. Abdelkarim BOUZRED, Minister of Finance of Algeria and Chairman of the IsDB Group Board of Governors, H.E. Hissein Brahim TAHA, Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and H.E. Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman AL JASSER, President of the IsDB and Chairman of the Group.

The SESRIC delegation also participated in the IsDB’s high-level launch of the innovative Matchmaking Platform for South-South Cooperation (SSC), held on the sidelines of the 2025 IsDB Group Annual Meetings under the spirit “From the South to the South, and by the South”. The ceremony featured opening remarks by Dr. Issa FAYE, Director General of Global Practices and Partnerships at the IsDB, followed by a live demonstration of the platform, which was officially launched by H.E. AL JASSER, IsDB President, and H.E. BOUZRED, Minister of Finance of Algeria.

In the margins of the main event, the SESRIC delegation held bilateral meetings with participating delegates and various national institutions to strengthen existing ties and explore new avenues of collaboration.

The 2025 IsDB Group Annual Meetings served as a valuable platform for reinforcing the shared vision on sustainable development across the OIC countries.
