SESRIC welcomed a delegation of six experts and professionals from the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts as well as the Agency for Tourism Promotion (ASPT) of Senegal, accompanied by representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Senegal, at its headquarters in Ankara.

Following the welcoming of the delegation by the Director of Training and Technical Cooperation, a presentation titled “International Tourism in OIC Member Countries” was delivered. The presentation highlighted global trends in international tourism across OIC countries and provided valuable insights into Muslim-friendly tourism based on the Strategic Roadmap for the Development of Islamic Tourism.

During the visit, SESRIC and the delegation discussed the ongoing collaboration within the framework of the project titled “Promoting Gastronomy Tourism for the Destination Senegal,” to be implemented from July to September 2025. The discussions also covered the potential for collaboration in the field of Islamic Tourism, given SESRIC’s extensive experience in this domain.

The visit also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and highlight the importance of enhancing capacities within Senegal’s tourism sector. At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation expressed their gratitude to SESRIC for the warm welcome and the valuable opportunity to learn more about tourism and Islamic tourism in the OIC.
