Venue: Virtual-SESRIC, Ankara - Türkiye

Within the framework of its Central Banks Capacity Building Programme (CB-CaB), SESRIC will organise a training course on “Open Market Operations and Forecast Modelling” on 16-17 February 2026. The training will be delivered by experts from the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) for the benefit of the participants from the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) and the Ministry of Economy of Oman (MOE). The primary objective of the course is to build in-depth knowledge and operational skills in the design, implementation, and monitoring of Open Market Operations (OMO), while also developing staff expertise in macroeconomic modelling and forecasting methodologies essential for effective monetary policy formulation.

The Central Banks Capacity Building Programme (CB-CaB) is an initiative launched by SESRIC in 2009 to share experiences and enhance institutional and human capacity among the Central Banks and Monetary Authorities of OIC Member Countries. The programme facilitates the transfer, sharing and exchange of knowledge, experiences and best practices among the member countries in this important domain through various modalities, including training courses, training workshops and technical study visits on banking and monetary issues, including monetary policies, financial literacy, Islamic financial instruments and regulation, risk management, financial stability, and others.
