The 4^th Meeting of the OIC Vaccine Manufacturers Group (VMG) was held on 9–10 February 2026 at the OIC-COMSTECH Secretariat in Islamabad, bringing together high-level participants from vaccine manufacturers, regulatory authorities, OIC institutions, and international organizations.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the OIC Vaccine Manufacturers Group since its establishment and explored avenues for enhanced cooperation among OIC countries, including regulatory convergence, joint initiatives, and partnerships aimed at strengthening vaccine self-reliance.

Mr. Mazhar Hussain, Director of Research at SESRIC, represented the Centre at the meeting and delivered a presentation on vaccine manufacturing in OIC countries, highlighting key challenges and opportunities related to capacity building, technology transfer, regulatory harmonization, and sustainable production.

The meeting concluded with concrete recommendations and an actionable roadmap to improve vaccine availability, affordability, quality, and self-reliance across the OIC region, contributing to regional and global health security.
