Venue: Virtual, Ankara - Türkiye

SESRIC participated in the 26th Meeting of the COMCEC Agriculture Working Group, held virtually on 22 April 2026 under the theme “Promoting a Resilient Agriculture Sector against Climate Change in OIC Member Countries”. The meeting brought together participants from relevant national institutions of OIC countries, as well as representatives of OIC institutions and other relevant international organisations.

The meeting commenced with presentations on the scope, conceptual framework, and methodology of the research report delivered by Assoc. Professor Semih CEYHAN, Consultant to COMCEC. The sessions also highlighted the main findings of the selected case country analyses and the lessons learnt, providing valuable insights into building resilient agricultural sectors against the impacts of climate change.

The meeting further provided an opportunity for member countries to share their experiences, perspectives, and national practices in strengthening agricultural resilience and adapting to climate-related challenges. Participants exchanged views on policy approaches, sustainable agricultural practices, and strategies to enhance food security in the OIC region.

In addition, the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), shared its experiences, best practices, and ongoing initiatives related to climate-resilient agriculture, contributing practical insights to the discussions.

The meeting concluded with a presentation by the COMCEC Coordination Office on its Project Support Instruments, which are announced annually under specific thematic areas to support projects in OIC countries and institutions.
