SESRIC participated in the commemoration ceremony marking the 690^th anniversary of the birth of Emir Timur, held at the Social Sciences University of Ankara on 27 April 2026. The event was jointly organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY), the Social Sciences University of Ankara, and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It brought together representatives of relevant institutions and diplomatic missions to honour the historical legacy of Emir Timur. The ceremony highlighted the enduring cultural and historical significance of Emir Timur across the Turkic world, emphasizing shared heritage and collective memory.

SESRIC’s participation reflects its continued engagement in initiatives that promote cultural cooperation among OIC countries, as well as its commitment to advancing cultural diplomacy and strengthening collaboration in areas of shared historical and cultural value. In this regard, such commemorative events serve as important platforms for fostering mutual understanding, preserving cultural heritage, and enhancing the visibility of prominent historical figures who continue to shape the cultural identity of the Turkic and the wider Islamic world.
