Newly Appointed Ambassador of Türkiye to Niger, H.E. Özgür ARSLAN,  Paid Courtesy Visit to SESRIC

H.E. Özgür ARSLAN, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Niger, paid a courtesy visit to the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries headquarters in Ankara. He was received by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK.

At the outset of the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK extended her warm congratulations to Ambassador ARSLAN on his recent appointment and wished him every success in the discharge of his diplomatic duties. She reportedly highlighted the strategic importance of Niger within the OIC framework and highlighted the Centre’s commitment to supporting sustainable development efforts through tailored capacity-building programmes.

H.E. SELÇUK further noted that SESRIC has implemented more than 160 capacity-building activities for the benefit of national institutions in Niger, reflecting the Centre’s continuous efforts to strengthen institutional capacities and human resources across the country. She emphasized that these initiatives span key sectors, including statistics, economic development, and public administration, and reaffirmed SESRIC’s readiness to further expand its support in line with Niger’s national development priorities.

For his part, Ambassador ARSLAN expressed his appreciation for SESRIC’s impactful contributions to capacity development in Niger. He highlighted the importance of sustained cooperation between SESRIC and Nigerien institutions and commented that this support would foster knowledge exchange and technical collaboration in ongoing and future initiatives. He emphasized the value of enhancing coordination between relevant stakeholders to maximize the effectiveness and outreach of such programmes.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation and exploring new avenues for collaboration aimed at advancing institutional resilience and sustainable development in Niger.
