H.E. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk met with H.E. Cheikh Tidiane Diéye, Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation of Senegal, on the margins of the 5^th Istanbul International Water Forum.

Both sides explored collaboration in water-related statistics, research, and training, building on Senegal’s success stories.

The discussion also highlighted the African Water Vision, with emphasis on exploring its alignment with the OIC Water Vision to further enhance policy coherence.

Senegal hosted the 9^th World Water Forum in Dakar in 2022 and will also co-host the UN Water Conference 2026 together with UAE, with the conference set to take place in the UAE from 2-4 December 2026.
