SESRIC held an online technical meeting with the representatives of the Amelioration Scientific Research Institute (SMETI) of Azerbaijan following the bilateral meetings conducted with the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ASWRA) on the sidelines of the 5^th Istanbul International Water Forum held on 5-6 May 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye.

The meeting focused on potential cooperation opportunities in the field of water resources management and technical collaboration. The two sides exchanged views on possible joint activities, knowledge sharing, and capacity-building programmes in water-related areas.

Discussions also covered the planned MoU between SESRIC and the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ASWRA) to strengthen institutional cooperation and support joint initiatives among OIC Member Countries.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their readiness to maintain communication and further develop cooperation in the coming period.
