SESRIC Participated in the Second Forum on Sharjah Award for Public Finance

SESRIC participated in the Second Public Finance Forum, which was organized by the Sharjah Award in Public Finance in collaboration with the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) and held in Istanbul, Türkiye, on 10–11 June 2026 under the theme “Public Finance in the Face of Global Crises: Strategic Visions – Present Challenges – Future Prospects.”

The forum brought together ministers, senior government officials, representatives of international and regional organizations, academics, and public finance experts from across the Arab world. The event aimed to provide a high-level platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of best practices in public finance, with a particular focus on enhancing the efficiency, resilience, and sustainability of public finance policies in addressing global economic crises and supporting long-term financial stability and sustainable development.

During the forum, SESRIC delivered a presentation entitled “Global Economic Developments and Their Implications for OIC Economies,” highlighting recent global economic trends and their potential implications for the economies of OIC Member Countries.

The forum featured a series of plenary sessions that examined key public finance challenges and policy responses in the context of global economic uncertainty. Discussions focused on the role of fiscal policy in mitigating the effects of crises, public debt sustainability and management, the impact of global economic developments on Arab economies, and strategies for strengthening financial resilience and sustainability. Participants also explored the potential of sovereign sukuk as a financing instrument, the implications of technological and economic transformations for public finance, and the importance of public–private partnerships in enhancing resource mobilization and improving the efficiency of public financial management.
