H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK spoke at the Strategic Leadership Dialogue panel held as part of the IsDB Halal Economy Leadership Forum (HELF) and the special edition of the AZHAB Forum, convened during the 2026 IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku.

During the discussion, H.E. SELÇUK emphasized the critical role of regional cooperation institutions in advancing halal ecosystem integration across OIC member countries. She noted that the global halal economy, valued at approximately US$7.4 trillion in 2023, is projected to reach nearly US$11 trillion by 2028.

Highlighting the need for more coherent halal ecosystem governance, H.E. SELÇUK called for stronger regional cooperation, enhanced institutional capacity, greater policy coordination, and harmonisation efforts.

She also underscored the importance of supporting MSMEs and strengthening linkages between Islamic finance and the production and trade dimensions of the halal economy.
