SESRIC participated in the Regional Health Invest Forum 2026, held on 13–14 July 2026 in Nouakchott, Mauritania, under the theme "Strengthening Intra-OIC Trade and Investment in the Pharmaceutical Sector: From Strategy to Action. The forum was organized by the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank and the World Health Organization. It brought together ministers, senior government officials, representatives of international and regional organizations, development partners, financial institutions, private sector leaders, and healthcare experts to explore opportunities for strengthening investment and cooperation in the health and pharmaceutical sectors across OIC countries.

The two-day Forum featured high-level institutional panels, thematic discussions, roundtables, and business networking sessions focusing on health sovereignty, innovative financing, pharmaceutical industrialization, regulatory harmonization, and investment opportunities to enhance resilient and sustainable healthcare systems. It also provided a platform for fostering public-private partnerships, promoting regional value chains, and advancing South-South cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.

SESRIC's participation reaffirmed its efforts to supporting initiatives that promote health systems strengthening and enhance economic cooperation among member countries. The Forum offered an important opportunity to exchange knowledge with key stakeholders and contribute to discussions on improving access to quality healthcare and strengthening pharmaceutical production and trade.
