On the sidelines of the InnoWeek 2026, SESRIC and the Center for Scientific and Technical Information (CSTI) of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 28 October 2026 in Tashkent. The MoU was signed on behalf of the CSTI by Sardor Jamoliddinovich NAZIROV and on behalf of SESRIC by Dr. Atilla KARAMAN.
The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation in scientific and technical information systems, research and innovation, evidence-based policymaking, and institutional and human-capacity development in OIC countries. The MoU provides for the organisation of joint training courses, seminars, workshops and study visits within the framework of relevant SESRIC capacity-building programmes. It also covers potential joint research activities, the exchange of statistics, publications, technical expertise and good practices, and the development of projects supporting scientific and technological development, research and innovation, and digital knowledge ecosystems through South-South and triangular cooperation.
The two institutions will also explore the use of digital platforms and technologies for information exchange and joint activities. Specific activities under the MoU will be developed separately, subject to the respective procedures of the two institutions.
