Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Consultative Meeting on SDG 4 Quality Education Indicators for the benefit of the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) of Qatar on 27-29 July 2020.

During the Online Consultative Meeting, Ms. Asli Asik YAVUZ, an expert from the Department of Environment and Sustainable Development Statistics at Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), shared the experiences of TurkStat on SDG 4 indicators with the relevant officials of the PSA of Qatar.

The Online Consultative Meeting particularly focused on the following topics:

• SDG Targets and Indicators within the Scope of SDG4
• SDG Targets 4.1 - 4.2, SDG Indicators 4.1.1, 4.2.1, and 4.2.2
• SDG Targets 4.3 - 4.5, SDG Indicators 4.3.1, 4.4.1, and 4.5.1
• SDG Targets 4.6 - 4.a, SDG Indicators 4.6.1, 4.7.1, and 4.a.1
• SDG Targets 4.b - 4.c, SDG Indicators 4.b.1 and 4.c.1
• Meta data, estimation procedures, data sources, collection and processing methods

The meeting was conducted through a video conferencing platform by following synchronous approaches designed in line with the virtual solutions undertaken by SESRIC in order to better serve the Centre’s statistical capacity building activities and keep participants motivated and engaged during this time of global crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
