The 8^th Meeting of the OIC/COMCEC Private Sector Tourism Forum was held on 11 November 2020 virtually under the theme of “Al-Quds Al Sharif: A Special Destination”. The event brought together relevant OIC Institutions and representatives of public and private sector from the OIC Member States to exchange ideas, experiences and identify means of cooperation on how to promote tourism in Al-Quds Al Sharif and unleash its potentials as a special destination.

SESRIC participated in the Meeting and delivered a presentation on the “State of Tourism in OIC Member Countries”. The presentations and discussions during the Forum emphasized that Al-Quds Al Sharif is a special destination given its rich history, heritage and culture.

During the Meeting, participants provided some recommendations on ways and means of developing tourism in Al-Quds Al Sharif such as by increasing tourism related investments, promoting the city in OIC Member Countries as a special destination, preserving cultural heritage, and developing new tour packages for the city.
