SESRIC participated in a webinar on “Peace and Sustainability – Why Environment, Food Security and Natural Resources Matter in Peacebuilding”, held virtually on 3 November 2026. The webinar was organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) under its Leadership Training in Peace and Security (LTIPS) webinar training series. It also served as preparation for the 31^st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to be held on 9–20 November 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye.

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Statistical Training Course on “SDG 1 (No Poverty) Indicators” on 3–4 November 2026 through an online video conferencing platform, in collaboration with the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

SESRIC launched the eighth edition of its report, “Towards the Achievement of Prioritised Sustainable Development Goals in OIC Countries”, during the 42nd Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), held on 31 October–3 November 2026 in İstanbul, Türkiye, and shared its key findings on OIC countries’ progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the participating Member States.

SESRIC launched the OIC Economic Outlook 2026: Navigating Growth, Transformation and Global Uncertainty during the 42^nd Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), held on 31 October–3 November 2026 in İstanbul, Türkiye, where it also presented the report’s key findings to the Member States.

SESRIC participated at the Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) of the 42nd Ministerial Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), during which Mr. Mazhar HUSSAIN, Director of the Research Department at SESRIC, presented the main findings of the 2026 edition of Towards the Achievement of Prioritised Sustainable Development Goals in OIC Countries.

As part of the “Journey to OIC Countries” series, SESRIC welcomed H.E. Abdulaye FOFANA, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea to the Republic of Türkiye, together with a delegation from the Embassy and a group of Guinean students pursuing their education in Türkiye, at its Headquarters on 30 October 2026.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Oumarou MAIGA, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to the Republic of Türkiye, on 30 October 2026. During the visit, H.E. SELÇUK congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and extended her best wishes for a successful tenure.

On the sidelines of the InnoWeek 2026, SESRIC and the Center for Scientific and Technical Information (CSTI) of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 28 October 2026 in Tashkent. The MoU was signed on behalf of the CSTI by Sardor Jamoliddinovich NAZIROV and on behalf of SESRIC by Dr. Atilla KARAMAN.

SESRIC participated in the “Innovate Together: International Science and Innovation Forum”, held on 28 October 2026 in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan, as part of the International Week of Innovative Ideas, InnoWeek.Uz 2026. The Forum brought together representatives of higher education and research institutions, public authorities, scientists, researchers and international experts to exchange experiences and explore opportunities for international scientific cooperation and joint research.

SESRIC welcomed an academic delegation from the Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Indonesia, at its headquarters in Ankara on 28 October 2026. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Ibnu Qizam, Dean of the Faculty. The delegation comprised 10 faculty members, including heads of the Sharia economics, Sharia banking, accounting and management programmes, as well as 10 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students.

SESRIC participated in the High-Level Officials’ Meeting on Strengthening Migration Data in the Arab Region, jointly organised by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the League of Arab States (LAS) in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, on 27–28 October 2026. The meeting brought together Directors-General and senior representatives of national statistical offices (NSOs), migration authorities, regional organisations and international agencies to discuss priorities for strengthening migration data systems and enhancing regional cooperation on migration statistics.

Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK delivered the opening keynote address at the “SESRIC–UNCTAD Regional Seminar on FDI Statistics in OIC Member Countries”, jointly organised by SESRIC and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) on the margins of the 9^th World Investment Forum (WIF2026) in Doha, Qatar.
