H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK delivered the opening keynote address at the “SESRIC–UNCTAD Regional Seminar on FDI Statistics in OIC Member Countries”, jointly organised by SESRIC and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) on the margins of the 9^th World Investment Forum (WIF2026) in Doha, Qatar.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak AL KHALIFA, Secretary-General of Qatar’s National Planning Council (NPC), on the margins of the 9th World Investment Forum in Doha, Qatar.

SESRIC and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) jointly organised the “SESRIC–UNCTAD Regional Seminar on FDI Statistics in OIC Member Countries” on the margins of the 9^th World Investment Forum 2026 in Doha, Qatar.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Palestine National Institutions Capacity Building Programme (PALESTINE-CaB) as well as the Disaster Risk Management Capacity Building Programme (DRM-CaB), the Centre, in collaboration with the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of the Republic of Türkiye (AFAD), organised a study visit on “Decision-Making and Coordination Mechanisms during Emergencies” on 26–27 October 2026 for the benefit of the Palestinian Civil Defence (PCD) and Palestine National School of Administration (PNSA).

SESRIC participated in the second edition of the “Towards COP31: Local Climate Action Policy Dialogue,” held under the theme “Local Leadership, Inclusive Urban Resilience and Sustainable Transition” on 26 October 2026 in Gaziantep, Türkiye. The Dialogue was jointly organised by Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, the United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section (UCLG-MEWA), the World Academy for Local Governments and Democracy (WALD), the United Nations in Türkiye, and the COP31 High-Level Climate Champion.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, participated in the High-Level Roundtable on Partnership, Investment and Trade and addressed the plenary session on “Investing Beyond GDP for Sustainable and Inclusive Progress” on 26 October 2026 in Doha, Qatar, on the margins of the 9^th World Investment Forum, organised by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Ambassador Yakup CAYMAZOĞLU, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the State of Qatar, on 26 October 2026 in Doha.

SESRIC received a high-level delegation from the General Secretariat for Islamic Arabic Education in The Gambia (AL-AMAANAH) at its headquarters in Ankara on 26 October 2026. The visit took place as part of AL-AMAANAH’s strategic education partnership mission to Türkiye and Egypt. Through this mission, AL-AMAANAH seeks international support for the modernisation and diversification of Madrassah education in The Gambia.

SESRIC, in cooperation with Qatar Social Work (QSW), organised a two-day training programme on “Data Analysis and Statistical Reporting Skills” for staff members from QSW’s nine centres and headquarters.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Sharifa Noaman AL EMADI, Executive Director of the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), on the margins of the 9^th World Investment Forum in Qatar.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki AL SUBAIE, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the State of Qatar, to discuss potential avenues for strengthening cooperation between SESRIC and the Ministry in areas of mutual interest.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with Ms. Fatou HAIDARA, Deputy Director-General and Managing Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), on the margins of the 9^th World Investment Forum.

A SESRIC delegation, headed by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK participated in the 9th World Investment Forum, organised by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and hosted by the State of Qatar under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman AL THANI, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.

SESRIC participated in the IOFS High-Level Panel on “AI and Food Security: A Qur’anic Compass for Sustainable Innovation”, held on 24 October 2026 within the framework of the IQRA’ 2026 Global Conference. Held virtually from the Headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, on 24–25 October 2026 under the theme “Guiding the Digital Age: A Qur’anic Direction for Human-Centered Innovation and Sustainable Development”, the Conference was co-organised by the International Qur’an Research Association (IQRA’), ICESCO, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) and other partners.

SESRIC delegation headed by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, participated in the 9th Istanbul Mediation Conference, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye. The conference was held in Istanbul on 23-24 October 2026 under the theme “Partnerships and New Perspectives for Peace: Mediation in a Changing World”.

Dr. Mehmet KÖSE, Chairman of the Board of the Africa Foundation and Representative of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to Türkiye, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, at SESRIC Headquarters on 22 October 2026.

SESRIC convened a high-level edition of its SESRIC Conversations series on 21 October 2026 at the Al-Aqsa Library at SESRIC Headquarters in Ankara, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), to mark World Food Day 2026. Held under the theme “From Success Stories to Scalable Solutions in OIC Member Countries”, the event brought together representatives of national institutions, diplomatic missions, international organisations, development partners, technical experts and students from OIC Member Countries. The discussions focused on how successful national experiences could be transformed into scalable solutions through regional cooperation, policy innovation and strategic investment to advance sustainable agrifood systems.

SESRIC participated in the Regional Workshop on the Use of Administrative Data in the 2030 Census Round, jointly organised by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), in collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), from 19 to 23 October 2026 in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye. The workshop brought together national statistical offices from Eastern Europe and Central Asia, together with UNFPA and other international partners, to discuss preparations for the 2030 census round and the increasing use of administrative data in census-taking.
