SESRIC, in partnership with the Libyan Programme for Reintegration and Development (LPRD) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), organised an inauguration ceremony for the Bina Incubator on 28 November 2019 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Incubator was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Ali Al-Issawi, Minister of Economy and Industry of Libya, H.E. Mr. Saddik Al-Kabir, Governor of Central Bank of Libya, H.E. Mr. Abdul Razzaq Mukhtar, Ambassador of Libya to Turkey, H.E. Dr. Bandar M. H. Hajjar, President of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), H.E. Mr. Nebil Dabur, Director General of SESRIC, H.E. Dr. Waleed Al-Wohaib, Director General of the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), Mr. Mustafa El Sagezli, General Manager of LPRD, Mr. Saleh Jelassi, Regional Manager of the IsDB Group Regional Hub in Turkey, Mr. İsa Turgut İnci, Deputy General Manager of Yıldız Teknopark, and many other high-level representatives from different institutions and partners.

Bina Incubator has been established within the framework of Bina Programme with a view to supporting the development of SMEs/Start-ups in Libya by providing them advisory, mentoring and networking support services.

The Bina Programme is a joint initiative of the IsDB and SESRIC aims to help fragile states such as Libya to overcome challenges that they face, most importantly rebuilding their Human Capacity and Institutions on foundations of Professionalism, Efficiency, Transparency and Good Governance. The Programme includes a number of projects and initiatives to enhance capacity building of national institutions in order to generate a constructive environment for a comprehensive socio-economic development.
